COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Why do ER, PR and HER2 results matter in breast cancer?
Receptor status helps determine which systemic treatments may be considered: endocrine therapy is relevant for hormone-receptor-positive disease, and HER2-targeted therapy for HER2-positive disease. If your pathology report does not include ER, PR and HER2 results, the reviewing team may recommend completing this testing before discussing a plan.
When is radiotherapy considered after breast cancer surgery?
Radiotherapy is commonly part of treatment after breast-conserving surgery. After mastectomy, whether it is recommended depends on factors such as tumour size and lymph-node involvement. Treatment of regional lymph nodes may also be assessed. The decision follows review of your pathology, surgery records and imaging.
Which records should I send for a breast cancer review?
Send pathology with ER, PR and HER2 results, surgery and lymph-node records, recent breast and systemic imaging reports with original files, and records of any previous chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, targeted therapy or radiotherapy.
Can recurrent or metastatic breast cancer be reviewed?
Yes. The team can review recurrent or metastatic disease, considering previous treatments, current disease pattern and symptom-control needs, and discuss which local or systemic options may still be appropriate. The review will also say honestly if further treatment here is unlikely to help.
How much does breast cancer treatment cost in China?
Fees depend on the treatment plan, including imaging, the radiotherapy course and any combined systemic therapy. After a free initial record check, the hospital provides an itemised written estimate before you make any travel decision. No payment is requested before you accept the plan.
Are treatment results guaranteed?
No. Outcomes vary by diagnosis, stage and individual condition, and no result can be promised in advance. If treatment here is not appropriate, the team will explain the alternatives they assessed, or say honestly if treatment here is not recommended.
