COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
What is CyberKnife treatment?
CyberKnife is a robotic radiosurgery system that delivers precisely targeted, high-dose radiation in typically 1 to 5 sessions. The M6 system tracks tumour movement in real time, for example breathing motion in lung tumours, and adjusts the beam accordingly. Treatment is non-invasive and usually performed on an outpatient basis.
Which cancers can CyberKnife treat?
It may be considered for selected lung, liver, prostate, brain, spine, pancreatic and recurrent tumours, and for patients who cannot or do not wish to undergo surgery. Suitability depends on tumour size, location, stage and previous treatment, and is decided only after specialist review of complete medical records.
How much does CyberKnife cost in China?
Fees depend on the treatment plan, including the number of sessions, planning imaging and any combined treatment. After a free initial record check, the hospital provides an itemised written estimate before you make any travel decision. No payment is requested before you accept the plan.
How long do I need to stay in Guangzhou?
Most CyberKnife courses, including planning scans, are completed within about 1 to 2 weeks. Your written plan confirms the expected schedule before you travel.
Can I get an opinion before travelling?
Yes. The initial record check is free and handled remotely. Submit pathology, imaging and treatment history online; the radiation oncology team reviews suitability and responds with the recommended next steps.
Are treatment results guaranteed?
No. Outcomes vary by diagnosis, stage and individual condition, and no result can be promised in advance. If CyberKnife is not appropriate, the team will explain the alternatives they assessed, or say honestly if treatment here is not recommended.
