COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
What information guides prostate cancer treatment decisions?
The team considers biopsy pathology with Gleason score or Grade Group, PSA history and trend, MRI or PET imaging and stage, previous treatment, symptoms and overall health. Together these determine whether options such as monitoring, surgery assessment, precision radiotherapy or systemic therapy are worth discussing.
Can CyberKnife be used for prostate cancer?
CyberKnife may be considered for selected localised prostate cancers, delivering precisely targeted high-dose radiation in typically 1 to 5 sessions while tracking prostate movement. Suitability depends on grade, stage, prostate size and previous treatment, and is decided only after specialist review of complete records.
What is PSMA PET and why might it be requested?
PSMA PET is an imaging method that can help locate recurrent or metastatic prostate cancer, including at low PSA levels. If you already have PSMA PET or other PET imaging, include the reports and original files in your submission; the reviewing team will advise whether further imaging is needed in your case.
Which records should I send for a prostate cancer review?
Send biopsy pathology with Gleason or Grade Group details, PSA history and relevant laboratory results, prostate MRI, bone imaging or PSMA PET reports and files when available, and records of previous surgery, radiotherapy, hormone therapy or systemic treatment.
How much does prostate cancer treatment cost in China?
Fees depend on the treatment plan, including imaging, the treatment approach and any combined systemic therapy. After a free initial record check, the hospital provides an itemised written estimate before you make any travel decision. No payment is requested before you accept the plan.
Are treatment results guaranteed?
No. Outcomes vary by diagnosis, stage and individual condition, and no result can be promised in advance. If treatment here is not appropriate, the team will explain the alternatives they assessed, or say honestly if treatment here is not recommended.
